Getting started
UniClubs is one account for every student club at your university. Create it once and it works everywhere — including on the individual club websites that run on UniClubs.
Sign up with eduID
Use SWITCH eduID — it’s the fastest way in and needs no extra password. It’s your university identity, so clubs can trust that you are who you say you are.
Your university email (like @student.unisg.ch) is not a login by itself. If you try to register with it, you’ll be nudged toward eduID instead. You can still add and verify your university email on your account later — that’s what proves your university affiliation to clubs.
Prefer a classic email and password? That option is there too, tucked under the eduID button. Passwordless “magic link” sign-in also works.
Already have an account under the same email? When you sign in with eduID, UniClubs detects it and walks you through merging the two, so you don’t end up with a split identity and lost memberships.
The onboarding walk-through
After your first sign-in you’ll go through a short setup. Only university and field of study are required — everything else you can skip and finish later from your account.
Two steps are worth doing properly rather than skipping:
- Phone number + sharing. Many clubs run their groups on WhatsApp and add members by phone number. If you skip this, you may have to chase the board to get added. You choose whether clubs can see it.
- University calendar. Paste your timetable feed (or upload the file) and UniClubs will warn you when an event clashes with a class. It’s used only for conflict checks and stays private.
Invited to a club before you signed up? Any memberships waiting for you are claimed automatically during onboarding — you’ll see a “your membership is ready” panel. No codes to type in.
What one account gets you
- Every club, one login — no separate account per club, and the same login works on club websites built on UniClubs.
- Your dashboard at a glance: upcoming events you’re confirmed for, tickets, applications awaiting a decision, and your clubs.
- Multiple universities — if you study or exchange across more than one, you can hold affiliations at each.
